A Surprising Metric

At the end of the fiscal year, businesses analyze profits, assess wins and losses, and evaluate teams—all important metrics.

But the true test of success? It often shows up in unexpected moments.

During a recent training with one of my clients, I witnessed this firsthand. At the start of our three-session program, each team member shared a story—real encounters that reflected the true impact of their mission.

The energy in the room shifted. Pride and purpose became tangible. Yet, what surprised me most? They had never shared these stories with one another.

I asked, "How did it feel to hear them?"

Their response:

"The stories confirmed we are doing what we set out to do—creating the life-changing outcomes we envisioned."

TALK TIP

In your next staff or board meeting—or if you're a solo entrepreneur, in a dedicated document—take time to capture and share stories. Here’s why:

  1. Strengthen Your Brand
Your stories define your brand and values, reinforcing that you're on track.

  2. Build Team Cohesion
Stories stick. They create emotional connections and inspire deeper commitment.

  3. Cultivate a Powerful Resource
Need material for a speech, networking event, or meeting? Stories are your most compelling asset.

Start sharing. The impact may surprise you.
